Zone Conquest

Zone Conquest

City Zones cannot become conquest targets or change ownership. Every other Zone type, including Farm Zones, respects its Conquerable setting. An unconquerable Zone may still be a pressure target in Tribute or Humiliation wars, but its ownership never transfers.

Which Zones can change ownership?

Protection and eligibility rules
Zone or settingPublished rule
City ZoneCompletely protected: cannot be a conquest target or change owner.
Other Zone typesThe Conquerable setting is respected, including for Farm Zones.
Conquest objectiveMust be an eligible neighboring Zone.
Unconquerable Zone under pressureMay be pressured in Tribute or Humiliation wars; ownership is not transferred.

Conquest, Liberation, and pressure

Conquest seeks an eligible neighboring Zone and changes its ownership in the final settlement. Liberation returns conquered territory to a former owner or allied claimant. Tribute collects Silver over time; Humiliation affects prestige and future willingness to fight. Those pressure goals do not imply that every contested Zone is annexed.

When the outcome is applied

Peace applies the result of the War Goal. A normal victory requires at least one full in-game day, but wars can last much longer; they cannot suddenly end while armies are fighting or capturing an objective. A protected Zone is not evidence that the ownership rule failed.

How to read a contested Zone

Start by distinguishing a City Zone from another Zone type, then distinguish an ownership goal from Tribute or Humiliation pressure. Follow the War Goal and peace settlement in the Faction Inspector and World Event Log.
